Parker Solar Probe completes its first flyby of Venus since launch in August


Today, the Parker Solar Probe completed the first flyby of Venus to bring down its orbit to get closer to the sun. The flyby was at a distance of about 1,500 miles and was the first of 7 total flybys the spacecraft will encounter. The teams will be taking data from this flyby and will be assessed over the next few days.

Parker Solar Probe is now enroute to its first close encounter with the sun.
